How does your health system and/or research team communicate?

Communicating within research teams can be challenging considering different communication styles, research site culture, and new technology for communication (e.g., instant messaging, etc.).

How do you ensure your team members receive the right information in a timely way? Do you have any strategies that have been particularly successful?

At our site we use variety of sources including EMR communication, instant messaging through messenger, by email or phone.  We usually try EMR messaging as much as possible so we can document the conversation in patient chart for future reference and also use as source document if needed. Biggest challenge with messaging in EMR is those messages may not be read in a timely manner as our coordinators may or may not routinely check their EMR messages. For time sensitive messages I like personal text or phone call to appropriate personnel to make sure it gets done! Interested in learning what other sites are doing?
