Serve as a Mentor

 Mentor Enrollment Instructions 

ASCO is seeking oncology professionals to serve as a Mentor for one-on-one virtual mentoring meetings focused on a specific career topic. After you enroll, this online tool provides a searchable database, allowing registered Mentees to send you a Mentor Request. From there, the pair will work independently to schedule two, 30-minute virtual meetings.

To Enroll as a Mentor, fill out the Mentor Enrollment Form to build your mentor profile. You are required to answer the following categories:
  • Mentor Bio: Include 1-2 sentences on your professional experience.
  • Setting of Professional Practice: Select which most closely describes your employer.
  • Cancer Subspeciality/Specialization: Select which cancer subspecialties you work on most frequently. Select all that apply.
  • Career Stage: Select which most closely describes your current career stage.
  • Mentoring Topic Areas: Select which topic areas you are comfortable providing mentorship on. Select all that apply.
  • Mentorship Duration: For ‘Start Date’, select today’s date. For 'Stop accepting new Mentees', leave blank. For 'Maximum Mentees', leave blank.
  • Click 'Complete' to save changes and complete your enrollment. If you make changes, you must click 'Complete' again for changes to save.

  • Stop accepting new Mentees: leave blank. 
  • Maximum Mentees: leave blank.

 Next Steps 

  • Keep an eye on your inbox!  You will receive an email if a Mentee requests you as a Mentor. Please check both your primary and junk folders for the email notification.
  • Visit My Mentoring Relationships to review and respond to a Mentee's request. 
  • After accepting a Mentee request, keep an eye on your inbox. Your Mentee will be instructed to email you to schedule (2) 30-minute meetings.
  • The end date for this term is March 31, 2026. We ask that you complete both meetings by the end date.  
  • Please note Mentors cannot be paired with more than 1 Mentee.
